“Close Your Eyes (We’ll Be There Soon)” – New Song from Greg Loiacono

2024-04-10T01:29:40+00:00May 16th, 2019|

“This song was inspired by watching my friend Kyle Field (Little Wings) perform an afternoon set at The Hipnic (The Mother Hips and FolkYeah Presents annual festival in Big Sur, California). I was lying on the grass with my family and some friends, staring up at the trees and listening to Kyle’s voice lilt through the leaves. There was no other place to be.

“The song flows in three parts just like a car trip might. The first touches on the excitement of making the journey to your favorite place. The second is being in that place and taking it all in. The third is that drive home which is filled with a tired, beautiful sadness — recalling the fun times you had and wishing they weren’t over while falling asleep off into a dream.” — Greg Loiacono

Video Premiere: Tim Bluhm’s “Jesus Save A Singer”

I was laid-up in a hospital in Puerto Vallarta and I was going to be late for the shoot in Nashville. The doctors wouldn’t release me, so I had to just find my clothes and escape. I had a taxi waiting for me outside. I got a flight north and just made it to the shoot, having absolutely no idea what the concept or treatment was going to be. Needless to say it was a very strange day, and physically I felt horrible, but it was kind of appropriate for the video.

“Blurred Culture premieres the music video today, a brilliant synthesis of animator/director Deren Ney’s classic cinematic aesthetic and Carolina Loiacono’s vibrant drawings. The visuals are minimalist yet striking, with bold lines and saturated tones. During the instrumental bridge, we’re given a bird’s eye glimpse of the Baja waters — the setting that was the genesis of the song.”
